Quayside (pronounced key•side) Publishing Group represents a dynamic group of imprints dedicated to providing quality and excellence to its readers. Formed in 2004 upon Rockport Publishers’ acquisition of Creative Publishing international, the Quayside Publishing Group now encompasses Rockport Publishers, Fair Winds Press, Quarry Books, RotoVision, Apple Press, Creative Publishing international, Motorbooks, Voyageur Press, Zenith Press and the newly created MVP Books.

Rockport Publishers was founded in 1984, and soon established itself as an esteemed publisher of high quality graphic design and craft books. Rockport’s illustrated source books for professional designers and artisans present the best design work from around the world.

In 2001 Rockport Publishers launched Fair Winds Press to focus on a wide range of mind, body and spirit topics that excite readers and help them answer life’s fundamental questions.

Quarry Books, launched in 2003, provides practical general reference in categories such as crafts, home style, pet care, and personal improvement.

UK based RotoVision is recognized worldwide as the publisher of excellence in the visual arts. Graphic design, photography, the arts and crafts of stage and screen, all types of architectural, interior, environmental, and three-dimensional design; these are RotoVision’s passions.

Apple Press is the European counterpart to the Rockport Publishers program, offering a wide selection of lifestyle titles.

In July 2004, Rockport Publishers once again expanded its horizons by acquiring Creative Publishing international. CPi specializes in visually stunning books for a hands on world. They are a worldwide leader of how-to-books on topics including home improvement, home decorating, sewing and crafting, and outdoors. Over the past 15 years, CPi has developed high-quality photography step-by-step books branded with nationally recognized names like Black & Decker and Singer. This strategic purchase helped strengthen and consolidate the entire group’s sales and marketing functions. It has also enabled the group to strike out as its own distributor.

Quiver is a boutique imprint that first offered books and kits in the fall of 2006 for couples who want to take their sex lives to the next level. Quiver books celebrate erotic pleasure and intimacy through beautiful, sophisticated photography and titillating, yet practical, text.

In 2007, The Quarto Group Inc. acquired MBI Publishing Company. Ken Fund, president and CEO of Quarto's Massachusetts-based Quayside Publishing Group is overseeing MBI’s operations. They publish under three core imprints: Motorbooks, Voyageur Press and Zenith Press. Motorbooks is the world's leading publisher of books and calendars for the transportation enthusiast. Voyageur Press publishes high-quality books and calendars in a variety of subjects, including nature and science, regional interest and travel, American heritage and country life, crafts, wild animals and pets, and more. Zenith Press publishes key military history and aviation titles. In addition to the publication of their own titles, MBI distributes titles for specialist publishers from around the world. This distribution business, now branded Quayside Distribution Services, represents more than two dozen client publishers.

MVP Books was launched in 2009 to produce distinctive, high-quality books for the sports and fitness enthusiast.

The Quayside Publishing Group is lead by Ken Fund, President and CEO and is a subsidiary of the London based Quarto Group, Inc.
